Here’s the age distribution for 2009’s cosmetic surgery numbers (these including men and women)…
13-19 year olds:
With 209,553 procedures performed on this age group, teenagers make up 2% of 2009’s total. These include 75% of all Gynecomastia surgeries and 14% of all nose reshaping procedures.
20-29:
There were 733,650 procedures performed on this age group, which accounts for 6% of the totals.
30-39:
This age range rolled in at 2,281,673 total procedures, making up 19% of all surgeries performed in 2009.
40-54:
It should come as no surprise that the largest group is of those middle aged. These folks shelled out for nearly 5.7 million procedures last year. That’s almost HALF (47%) of all procedures performed in 2009!
55+:
Senior citizens make up the second largest group, topping out at just over 3.13 million procedures undergone in 2009, totaling 26% of all age groups.
