Teens under the Knife – How young is too young?

If you think back to middle school and high school you can probably recall a time in which you felt out of place. Perhaps this was due to a perceived physical flaw or was the result of some childish teasing. Depending on the severity, the episode was either temporarily painful or emotionally scarring. The difference is that today there is ample opportunity for teenage cosmetic surgery. The year 2008 saw over 200,000 teenagers going under the knife. Is this appropriate? Who decides when and what is right regarding cosmetic surgery for teens?

What happens when you can never be satisfied with the way that you look? What if no one else can see the “flaws” in your appearance, or the slight imperfections that consume your thoughts?
